Waverly Place Bed and Breakfast located in the Corbin Park historic district in Spokane, Washington. As Corbin Park's first home, this 1902 queen-Anne style Victorian mansion was built by Harry J. Skinner, a prominent builder, as his family home. Owners Marge Arndt and her daughter Tammy, cordially invite you to stay.
The Waverly Suite is our most requested room. The bedroom with it's copper and brass enameled queen bed embellished in down and quilts, overlooks the pool and gardens. Your room has dormered window seats, overstuffed chair and loveseat. The bath is decadent with a tiled shower and iron clawed soaking tub perched on a platform with a view of the park, and James the Butler descreetly holding your soap dish.
Skinner Suite is a spacious room viewing the west oval of Corbin Park. Oak furnishings and oriental carpets accentuate the gleaming fir floors and compliment the striking anaglypta ceiling. The queen size down covered oak sleigh bed, antique corner settee, and the private bath with tiled shower assures your comfort.
Anna's Room is a prominent Victorian bedroom with it's beautiful oval leaded glass window and three sided window seat built into the turret facing Corbin Park. The furnishings include a down covered four postered mahogany rice bed, dressing table, loveseat and chair. Your luxurious private bath is just 4 steps across the hall, with a glass enclosed shower and a separate clawfooted slipper tub for soaking away the stress of the day.
Morning greets you with coffee right outside your room in the hall, and you can smell a wonderful breakfast cooking down in the kitchen to whet your appetite. You can enjoy your coffee by the fireplace in the entry parlor or soak in the sun on the front veranda. For those who like a little exercize to begin the day, a jaunt around Corbin Park will fit the bill nicely. Or a few laps in the pool will refresh and envigorate you.

Grandma Anna's Oven Pancakes Recipe Details →
My grandma Anna came to the United States from Sweden in 1914. These oven pancakes were a special treat on Sunday mornings when we stayed at her house in Newport, Washington. We make them in smaller iron skillets for individual servings.
