Stuffed French Toast

French Toast stuffed with a creamy filling of cream cheese and jam topped with fresh berries.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French Bread
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 4 oz. Chevre cheese
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam
- orange zest from 1 orange, divided
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 2 cup milk
- 1 lb. fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 T. Grand Marnier
Directions
Heat griddle to medium high and cook each side for 3 minutes.
Cut French bread into slices by cutting the end off first and then slice half way through and on the next cut go all the way through.
Continue cutting slices in this way to have pockets for the filling.
Combine cream cheese and Chevre cheese.
Spread small amount in each bread pocket.
Add half of orange zest to strawberry jam and add a teaspoonful to each pocket of bread over the cheese mixture.
Beat eggs and milk together in bowl and dip stuffed bread into mixture and place on heated and oiled griddle.
Fry each side until golden brown, about 3 minutes each side.
Remove to platter and keep warm while continuing to cook remaining slices.
Meanwhile slice strawberries and add powdered sugar, remaining orange zest, Grand Marnier, and toss.
Serve slices topped with berry mixture.
Serving for 6-7 people.
