Creeping Crust Cobbler

Rustic Cobbler made with a variety of berries fresh from the garden.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 cups fruit (raspberries or blueberries)
  • 1 cup or less of sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup milk

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place butter in a 10” round pie dish and place in oven until butter is melted. Remove from oven.

  2. While butter is melting place fruit and 1 cup of sugar in saucepan and stir gently over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.

  3. In a small bowl stir together flour, remaining 1 cup of sugar, baking powder and milk.

  4. Spoon batter into pie dish over melted butter. (Do not stir). Spoon fruit sauce over batter. (Do not stir).

  5. Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm. Spoon in serving dishes and garnish with whipped cream or ice cream.
