Bosch Garten's Orange French Toast

Orange French Toast using English Muffin Bread from Leavenworth's Home Fires Bakery
Ingredients
- 8 eggs
- 1-1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup milk - soy or other milks work great too! Can also use just orange juice.
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- Peel of one orange, finely grated
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, & two shakes of cardamon - or to taste.
- 12-16 slices favorite bread, any thickness. Try English Muffin
Directions
Cook on stove top at medium high heat until golden brown on both sides.
Beat eggs in large bowl.
Add orange juice, milk, vanilla salt, orange peel, and spices and mix well.
Dip bread in egg mixture, turning to coat/soak lightly all sides.
Place on a baking sheet in a single layer, pouring any remaining egg mixture over the top.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Fry pieces on lightly oiled griddle until golden brown.
Serve with pureed fruit or sprinkle coconut and/or powdered sugar, and additional syrup(s).
Makes 6 servings (2 pieces each) with extra for hungrier eaters.
