Orange Scones with White Chocolate Chips

These scones are moist and delicious! The combination of fresh orange juice and white chocolate is perfect!
Ingredients
- 4 cups unbleached flour
- 1 T. plus 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 3/4 lb. cold unsalted butter, cut in cubes
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 tsp. grated orange zest
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 T. orange marmalade
- 1 cup white chocolate chips (or dark chocolate)
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees and bake for 20-25 minutes.
Mix the dry ingredients in a food processor.
Add the butter to the food processor all at once.
Run for about 15 seconds until crumbly (don't overwork).
In separate bowl mix remaining ingredients.
Pour wet ingredients over crumbs and mix until no flour is visible (don't overdo it).
Measure out 1/2 cup scoops and plop on baking sheet (use parchment if you prefer).
Bake until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Remove from baking sheet to cool.
Serve fresh from the oven or at room temperature.
