Gran's 8-Week Date Bran Muffins

These muffins are great to have on hand for a last minute treat. Moist and tasty, they are a sure hit!
Ingredients
- 1 cup Crisco
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 5 tsp. soda
- 4 cups All Bran cereal
- pour 2 cups boiling water of 2 cups of the All Bran
- 1 quart buttermilk
- 4 beaten eggs
- 5 cups flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 lb. chopped dates
Directions
Bake 400 degrees for about 18-24 minutes.
Mix ingredients in order given.
Store in glass jars with tight lids, in refrigerator.
Makes 5 quarts and will keep about 8 weeks.
