What is the River Rock Inn?

Arlington’s River Rock Inn! Voted one of the Top 5 B&B’s in the Northwest!                                                                                             King 5 and Evening Magazine – Best Northwest Getaways 2011.

Arlington’s River Rock Inn is one of the most architecturally unique B&B’s in Washington!

The inn’s massive Great Room has been officially recognized for breathtaking Northwest architecture, hand drawn fir logs, old growth cedar, towering beams, and large wall of windows thirty feet tall offering unbelievable forest and wildlife views.  The spectacular double-sided, river rock fireplace boasts ten tons of hand selected, river rock artfully placed one by one to create the inn’s focal masterpiece.

Wildlife viewing includes deer (fawns too), eagles, owls (owlets too), bunnies, woodpeckers and mountain and migratory birds, etc…

In addition to the Great Room the inn offers guests five large suites all with private bathrooms, rainfall showers and tubs for two. The “guest only” spa is very popular and features one couples spa treatment room as well as one single spa treatment room.  Hot Stone massages and Hot Stone facials are the signature spa services.

The innkeeper's quarters, located in the lower north wing of the home, are set apart from the guest area and are quiet, spacious, and full of natural light. There is a private entrance, spacious bedroom with extra storage, living room with extra tall ceilings, bathroom, an office, laundry room, mud/storage room, large kitchen with island, dining area and separate butler’s pantry

When did the River Rock Inn begin?

“Since it opened in March 2005, she’s been providing “a luxurious Northwest B&B experience,” as she likes to describe it, to hundreds of guests. The River Rock Inn has become one of the Northwest’s most popular B&Bs, thanks not only to the Watkinses’ effective marketing but also because of the attractions they have to market — relaxation, comfort, friendliness, pampered experiences and scenic beauty.”                                                                                                                                                                                                         John Wolcott, Snohomish County Business Journal, published September 2011

The current innkeepers have lived on the property for 15 years. After living in the original single story rambler for seven years the innkeepers dreamed of starting a B&B. They designed and contracted the inn to be built in 2004/2005 by adding a second story, the great room and remodeling the entire rambler with the guests comfort in mind. Using green practices and careful recycling (old growth timber) the single story rambler soon tripled in size and opened as the River Rock Inn.

Where is Arlington’s River Rock Inn?

“This tranquil, hidden spot is situated amidst calling birds and grazing deer. The deluxe rooms and on-site couples spa may make this one of Washington’s best B&B’s.”                                                                           Chloe Ernst, Day Trips From Seattle – Published July 2010

Arlington, WA is located one hour north of Seattle, twenty minutes north of Everett, WA and two hours south of the Vancouver, Canada border.

Only five minutes from Interstate 5, historic Arlington is the gateway to the scenic Mountain Loop Highway and the North Cascades National Park. Arlington offers small town charm with historic buildings, a four star restaurant as well as unique shops and bakeries. The inn is only seven minutes south of historic Arlington yet only fifteen minutes to big box stores, private airport, heli-pad  and mainstream shopping.  Close to Seattle Premium Outlets, whale watching, Future of Flight – Boeing Tours, Tulalip Tribal Museum, organic farms and Washington wineries, Arlington is considered the ideal location for those travelers looking to be central to everything but still enjoy a northwest themed lodging experience.

Who comes to Arlington’s River Rock Inn?

“Their web site, riverrockinnbnb.com, attracts guests from all over the world, the U.S. and Snohomish County. Travel journalists and publications rave about the accommodations and genuine friendliness. KING-TV’s Evening Magazine and Best Northwest Getaways, among others, have rated the inn as one of the top B&Bs in the Northwest.”                                                                                                                                                                               John Wolcott, Snohomish County Business Journal, published September 2011

Typical summer and fall time guests include tourists worldwide visiting the Pacific Northwest for whale watching, farm tours, hiking, salmon fishing and visits to the North Cascades National Park.

The River Rock Inn also is a very popular destination for romantic getaways, birthdays, anniversaries and honeymoons. The romance of the wood burning fireplace, tubs for two, luxurious suites and on site spa seem to beckon the romantic.  These getaways are popular all year with a spike in the summer and fall for honeymoons.

While most B&B’s are somewhat seasonal, there are many off season activities that draw visitors from the large population bases of Seattle, Portland, British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. Premium Outlet shopping, the trails and scenery of the mountain loop highway, Tulalip Tribal Museum and concerts and small town getaways all bring tourists to the Arlington area year-round.

Why Arlington’s River Rock Inn?

Innkeepers Lisa & Bob have truly created something special in their beautiful B & B nestled in God's country! They are just minutes away from beautiful snowcapped mountains, lakes, streams and rivers. We have stayed in many B & B's, and this one is a 5-star inn with its beauty, tranquility, warmth, hospitality and wonderful breakfasts. It is really a retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
