Spokane

With just under a quarter of a million residents Spokane is the third largest city in the Pacific Northwest. It sits on the Spokane river, and is Washington's eastern gateway to the Rockies.

Spokane offers a varied performing arts scene and many outdoor recreational activites and attractions. One such feature is Manito Park and Botanical Gardens, a large 90 acre park with beautiful formal gardens.

Each year in May, Spokane hosts the Lilac Festival, featuring many events including the Armed Forces Torchlight Parade, and the Lilac Bloomsday Run, which can attract up to fifty thousand people. Another unique event is the Spokane Hoopfest, which is the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world.
