Spokane offers a varied performing arts scene and many outdoor recreational activites and attractions. One such feature is Manito Park and Botanical Gardens, a large 90 acre park with beautiful formal gardens.
Each year in May, Spokane hosts the Lilac Festival, featuring many events including the Armed Forces Torchlight Parade, and the Lilac Bloomsday Run, which can attract up to fifty thousand people.
