Gift Certificates

We are happy to announce that the Washington Bed & Breakfast Guild now runs an in-house gift certificate program. After almost a year of research and discussion, after the demise of Certifichecks, we found the best way to assure our guests and our own membership that our gift certificates are secure, was to create and run our own program.

Here are some important differences and points about our new program;

  1. All gift certificate funds are held in a dedicated savings account at our federally insured credit union (hence the funds are safe and guaranteed).
  2. When you cash in your gift certificate our members receive 100% of the face value (unlike other third party programs who take comission).
  3. The shipping and handling charge cover our cost to ship you the gift certificate, a copy of our print directory and a Department of Transport State Map (all extremely useful in planning a trip).
  4. Your gift certificate can be redeemed at our Inspected and Approved members (we hold ourselves to high standards).

So go ahead and buy a loved one a gift certicate now.

A message about Certifchecks (no longer accepted)

The Washington Bed and Breakfast Guild would like to thank you for supporting Washington Bed and Breakfast Guild innkeepers by purchasing gift certificates to stay at our quality inns. We would like to extend our sympathy for the financial misfortune that has occurred as a result of Certifichecks, the company that issues WBBG gift certificates, filing for bankruptcy (February 2009) without prior warning. This unfortunate turn of events has affected guests and innkeepers alike, as well as thousands of chambers of commerce, the military and many other organizations had agreements with Certifichecks for the purpose of transacting gift certificates.

Certifichecks was a privately owned company that had an agreement with the WBBG to issue gift certificates for our guests. The WBBG had a direct link to Certifichecks through our web site to issue gift certificates. Any money that was exchanged or accepted was directly transacted through Certifichecks. The WBBG did not accept any money from guests or Certifichecks when issuing gift certificates. In this event, the WBBG is not liable for any money that was exchanged with Certifichecks.

Although WBBG member innkeepers are not liable for the money that was exchanged with Certifichecks, our innkeepers have been distraught over disappointing our guests.

Thank you for patience and understanding with this matter. If you have questions or would like more information please  contact the WBBG Administrator at 253-770-6284.
